Movie Review: Shutter Island - Why it was a utter disappointed

As a first of many reviews I must warn you that my reviews will be harsh and realistic as well as revealing to the whole plot of the movie, so if you want to watch the movie and need an opinion, this is not the review for you. If you are looking for a lengthy review going through the strong points contrary to the negative points, this is also not for you.

Shutter Island (2010) is the tale of Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) and the case he is assigned as a US Marshal. The movie throws us in to this man's mind and what he feels throughout this case, revealing more and more as it goes along. Now this movie goes about it completely wrong right from the start when we get introduced to Teddy Daniels, he is having flashbacks and seems rather unstable. Throw him into a case of a missing patient at a mental hospital with a very shady co-worker, who doesn't seem to belong to the job as a US Marshal, and you already get suspicious about where the movie is going.  Of course, this alone will not tip you completely off but damn close I tell you. As it gets further along you realize that all the conspiracy theories and shady business doesn't fit. You realize that this movie wasn't made to be a "the-world-is-all-against-me-conspiracy" movie, and it is at that moment you come to realize what Teddy Daniels really is, he is a patient himself, creating people and events through what he himself have lived through before he tried to be all this.

The premise is not shabby but the presentation reveals the whole movie leaving me with a taste of what it could have been instead, and regretfully I left watching this movie with anger and resentment.

Movie Rating: 2/5 - I just couldn't bring myself to give it a 1/5 but more than 2/5 I sadly can't give it.
